Electronic timing system
The Club uses MyLaps electronic timing system with transponders fitted to most member’s ‘karts. Having a transponder is not ‘compulsory’ however having one ensures that your sailing results from each Club day are recorded. The transponders can also be used at national or international events. Transponders can be purchased through the Club Timing Officer. The transponder is housed in a plastic case which clips on your blokart footbar. The ProChip Timer Go transponders currently used by the Club have a warranty of two years and expected battery life of 5+ years. There is no subscription required and no activation process. The Timing Officer will ensure your transponder is entered into the race timing syetem.

Important notes on transponder use:
- Keep your blokart at least one metre away from the timing loop to avoid flattening the transponder battery.
- There is an approximately 4 second lock-out where you transponder will not be re-read. So if you’re over the line early in a race, you have to be out of range of the loop for more than 4 seconds to get another read logged.
- For national event ensure that you have provided the correct transponder number when entering a competition. Your transponder number will generally need to be included on the event entry form.
- And … the electronic timing system is always right … so no arguing with the Officer of the Day!
